The social contract theory of Hobbes reveals the concept that there is the requirement of some form of adjustment, compromise and understanding between the ruler of a state and its subjects to ensure that natural law is adhered to. This is because there can be mutual consent of subjects and rulers of a state established to maintain sovereignty as well as fairness in a state. If there is no consent of the subjects of a state in a decision taken by the ruler, the natural law of the state might be violated. This is because there would never be peace established in that state.
